Will it be ok to change employers multiple times on EAD with in shrt span of time difference?
yes, after being a 'chicken' for so long, I changed job on AC21 six months back. And since then changed twice after that. (once forced due to economy, second time moved to a better position) in fact now I am loving the freedom that comes with EAD. Only make sure you stick to same profession (programming) other things like salary or job title etc doesn't matter. Good Luck!

Hi Everyone,
My H1B visa is valid till Sep 2009. I am planing to go for H1B extension. I heard, some people who applied for extension got rejected in recent past. I am planing to go to Canada for extension.
Please share your advices and experiences... that would be helpful...
Please suggest me following...
- Better place to go for extension( Canada/ India/ some other?)
- What are the things we need to be prepared before that
- What are questions they are asking
- What are the documnets we MUST carry

Below are my details:
Current work status : H1B
Applied for I-485 , July'07 filer, priority date: jun EB3 category
My husband details:
Current work status : H1B
Applied for I-485 , July'07 filer, priority date: Feb EB3 category
We both have separate EADs and H1B visas and are independent of each other currently.
Because my priority date is 2006 and my husband's is in 2005, there is more possibility that he may get GC before my PD becomes current.
When my husband's priority date becomes current, he wants to file it for me again so i would get GC along with him.
I am now considering to look out for jobs and use my EAD card with new employer.
Can I make my EAD active ? Will it cause any problems when my husband's priority date becomes current and when we file my application along with his ?
Any input is greatly appreciated.

Keep an eye on the military appropriations bill Congress is working on for a potential immigration piece. The AP reports that Republicans want some serious money and personnel commitments for the southern border. And my own sources are telling me that some Democrats are looking at trying to get the DREAM Act in that same piece of legislation. Remember, DREAM allows for some who join the military to pursue permanent residency so it would be a germane part of the bill. A down payment on comprehensive immigration reform? Or the end of that effort and the return to piecemeal legislating?...

We filed our 485 on July 2nd 2007 at Nebraska office � EB3 � July 7, 2001
- The case was shifted to Texas and we received notices from Texas office with receipt date of August 27.
- Our date is now current however processing at Texas is still stuck at June 27, 2007.
- Does this mean our RD is now 08/27/07 even though it was recd. at Nebraska on 07/02/07??

I'm about to start reading British native Simon Winchester's 2003 bestseller Krakatoa: The Day the World Exploded about the massive Indonesian volcano. my company also got acquired recently and i had gone for stamping. Mine was for renewal. they just looked at the 797 and gave the stamping. i had written the name of the old company in the ds-160 as the h1 document was in their name

Doesn't matter if you only live in AZ or not! If you live in the Border Areas (North and South), or are traveling in those areas, it is better you carry it.
I never carry mine and do not intend to unless fit I the above case. I have memorized my A# and that of my spouse and am willing to go thro' to whatever rare hassle that I may face than losing my wallet and having to replace my GC for $370! Futher I do not want identity thieves getting another piece of info about me.

Hi ,
I Am planning to apply for my 10th Year H-1B Extension with the same employer.
My last H-1B was in 2007. I looked on doleta.gov The Prevailing Wage
in 2007 for the same job and same location as I am right now at
Level 3 was 57000.00, Now in 2010 it is 76000.
I talked to my Employer about this, he says he cannot raise my salary that much.
My Question is
1. When I applied for Foreign Labor Cert On-line does the
Prevailing Wage has to be most recent even in case of H-1B Extension ?
2. Is is ok If I go to Level-2 Instead of Level-3, will it considered as
change in Employment ?
3. The Prevailing Wage for 2008 for the same job and same location
as I am right now at is 66000. Should I Try to Apply for labor
cert referencing 2008 Prevailing Wage. ?
4. What are my options ?
