Congratulations to Swedish-born Paul N.J. Ottosson who won two Academy Awards this evening for Best Sound Editing and Best Sound Mixing for The Hurt Locker. Ottosson came on a tourist visa in the 80s with some friends to try and make it as a rock musician. His friends went home, but he stayedand went on to become one of the top people in one of the most important jobs in filmmaking. Ottosson briefly mentioned his immigrant experience in his acceptance speech.

Peri Software Solutions Inc., a New Jersey-based software company, has recently been cited by the Department of Labor for wage law violations in connection with 163 H-1B visa employees. The company is accused of not paying prevailing wages to its H-1B workers, most of whom are software and technology analysts. Under H-1B regulations, employers are required file a Labor Condition Application (LCA) as part of the H-1B petition for immigrant workers. Hi Sukhpreet, are you sure the actual petition was filed and denied, or just the labor condition application (LCA) was denied? The LCA is one component of the H-1B petition; it requires a valid FEIN number, and it needs to be certified in order for the H-1B petition to be filed. Most likely, this is what has been denied because the DOL could not find/match the number. The lawyer can just refile the LCA with the appropriate IRS documentation, and it should be certified within a week. The H-1B petition can then be filed with the certified LCA.

Last Friday was a depressing day for me. A businessman and his daughter visited me in my office. When I asked how they had learned about our law firm, they said a lot of flattering things about how "famous" we were and about our "great" website. Hi
I am planning to go to India for emergency purpose. I have valid stampped H1B visa till Jan'2012 with my previous employer X. Now I have been working for new employer Y since Jun'2009. I have got approved 797 and have all paystubs since then. Do I need to go for visa stamping in India with new 797 or I should be able to enter US with my previous company's stampped visa?
Any quick reply is very much appreciated.

As long as the Master Program in UK is equivalent to Masters in US, you should be good.
You can get your credentials evaluated in US and see if its a Masters equivalent.

As I understand , either there would be no bulletin revision(currently appearing impossible) or there would be a bulletin revision making some categories unavailable , in which case it doesnt matter even if your application has made it on July 2nd it will be returned. So why is the rush to get applications by mail/fedex/samedaydelivery/inpersondelivery/etc ?
Or is the rush to deliver only for those applicants with PDs in 2002-2004 who are hoping that their PD will make it in the new bulletin if it is not unavailable? I see no reason for the rush which seems to have increased after the rumor about the new bulletin on friday ...(although I personally asked my lawyer to send it on friday 6/29 and for which I have no confirmation if it was actually sent or not).

yes. Select it, then check out the left hand panel. I believe that "layout" will have a check box which says, "show object" or something similar. This is what you use to make an object transparent.

Hi all.
Does anyone know if one can import a Poser file into Swift 3D, animate it, and export it as a vector-animated movie to Flash 5? It would be nice to see Poser characters move well in Flash without having to rely solely on Flash.
