PBS launched a wonderful new series this evening entitled Faces of America which examines the family history of 12 notable figures in contemporary America. The figures profiled are diverse and include Dr. Mehmet Oz, Meryl Street, Kristi Yamaguchi, Malcolm Gladwell Stephen Colbert and Yo-Yo Ma. I was pleased to see Mike Nichols on the list. Rescheduling your FP can delay your background check etc., and can complicate your GC approval timeframe. Its better not to reschedule and stick to the appointment unless their is an emergency.
AFAIK, their is no limit on the number of times you can reschedule though, but its advisable not to reschedule for the reasons mentioned earlier..

Good news. The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) recently issued guidance on the new H-1B amendment that limits Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) recipients� ability to hire H-1B workers. The USCIS confirmed that the new H-1B amendment does not apply to H-1B extensions for current employees with the same employer.
"EAWA does not apply to H-1B petitions seeking to change the status of a
beneficiary already working for the employer in another work-authorized
category. It also does not apply to H-1B petitions seeking an extension
of stay for a current employee with the same employer."

I am looking for some feedback how is FexEx based in Memphis for joining on Ac1. How easy or difficult is to get a H-1B sponsorship and a new green card sponsorship etc ? How is their immigration lawyers ? I would also appreciate any other feedback on FedEx as an employer.

Hi, I have/had valid I-94 all the time. Recently I renewed my passport in US. But I renewed it 3 months after expiry of old one. I heard from friends that, you need to have valid passport for the entire period of H1B petition validity. Wondering, If am in trouble for not renewing my passport before it expired. Please give your opinions.

Does any one have any advice about AC21
Is it advisable to file AC21 soon after changing/ joining new employer?
OR
Just keep quite and look for any RFE, if any RFE comes up send AC21 form and updated employer information along with it.
IS there any guidelines from people who already did it successfully

1. I was on H1B with company A from Januray 2003 to January 2008.
2. I am on L1A with company A from February 2008 which is valid till December 2010 (my 7 year limit on L1A ends by December 2010).
3. My Labor is applied in October, 2009 by company B.
If my labor is approved or labor pending for 1 year, can I reactivate my old H1B with company B and start working with them.

I have searched lot of threads regrading AC21 when the new is less. I am currently working in a city. I have applied for 485 on July 2. 140 is approved. I am planning to move to rural area in the same state. Since the location is rural, the pay is lower than pay specified in my current labor. Since they also sponsor GC, I am sure the pay is higher than the prevailing wage.
Under these circumstances, is it ok to use AC21. Is it possible to argue that the wage is higher than the prevailing wage in the new EVL to be submitted with AC21.
I am aware AC21 is for "same or similar job". What about pay? ANy issuew with this.
I appreciate any help.

Almost 22 week past, No response From Mumbai Consulate
Interview Date - 13-Feb-2009
Purpose - H1B Visa Stamping(VISA Approval in 2008 before had F1 Visa)
Interview - VO Asked me few Questions and then asked me to show your company's Wages report and your consultacy and client where u worked agreement letter. I have given him both the docs. and Vo kept with him and gave me 221G Yellow letter which mentioned your docs. are in administrative processing and didn't mentioned any time frame.
After my Employer and i frequently sent emails and faxes to mumbai consulate but no response yet.
Anybody Knows what i have to do. Please advice me further .
