How does that work? There is no law or process to connect an abandoned labor. I had approved labor with a PD of 1999 that got lost when I switched companies. But no one seems to be connecting that to me.
You can use that priority date if I140 was filed for you based on that and approved. Was I140 filed for you ? Or you just abandoned it while labor was pending ?? If the later, your employer must have made money when labor substitution was allowed :) (Making a BIG assumption here )

Interesting discussion...
My point - I am going to take things in a stride, basically wait till I can - doesn't hurt me as long as I go about my daily routine.
All who are thinking of jumping the fence and giving up, one piece of advice - if you do not have kids and plan to have any in this life, please do it NOW - have them be born here (all of them) and then move on with whatever / wherever you want to go.
At least this is a gift you will be giving your kids for their lifetime and all the generations following them (remember - a US citizen's kid can be a US citizen no matter where he/she is born) - so you will be arranging US citizenship for all your great^n * grand * kids (0 <= n <= infinity) !
This is how I think about it when I do not think about MYSELF. Once the kids are born, you can flaunt their American Passports and feel happy in their well-being and security (for whatever it is worth) and move on to Canada / India / Singapore / wherever! Live happily.
And do not forget your kids can sponsor you when they are 21.

Hi All,
My attorney and company (both) received copy of Approval Notice. One thing I noticed is Priority Date on Approval Notice is my EB3 Priority Date( October 2003 ). I think some kind update (porting) has happened. I have not seen any change in LUD on my I-485. This is just to update all and hope this information may be useful to someone.

Those comments were made by the President before the Senate Democrats press event. In fact one reporter asked Sen. Reid about the President's comments. It is not possible the Senate democrats do immigration press event on the Hill without the concurrence of the President.
We think that the President is trying to make his sincere push for the reform which requires a bi-partisan support. He did not say that he is taking immigration off the agenda. So this article is misinterpreting the comments of the President.

I understand your frustration. Since there is no spillover in the first quarter of new fiscal year, it was expected that PD would move back. How can you you expect 2006 PD for Oct when there is no spillover visa numbers.
Next year Jul-Sep 2009, PD should move to mid 2006 again.
My 2 cents.
Again on Next yr Jul 09-Sep 09 the DOS move the dates to Mid 2006 or Early 2007 and then the ineffiicient USCIS approve the cases with later PD's and leave the Older PD case
Until USCIS fix their system, it will be very hard , The Whole thing is unpredictable and much harder than winning a Power ball or mega million lotterry

I contributed $100 by Paypal and sent out an eamil to about 15 of my friends who are in the same boat as I am. My email mentioned everything IV is trying to achieve and encouraged them to contribute too. I hope atleast a few of them will come forward.

Apart from calling all senators, I am thinking of writing to them/their offices as well. I guess different forms of communication would not hurt.

I am still on H1 (not utilized EAD), the visa on my passport expired last year. Planning to visit India next week, should I be getting a visa stamped or use AP?

I believe that small companies have a big impact too. As someone mentioned, check to see which companies filed GCs in the last 10 years....Infy, TCS or Small body shops?
The notion of H1/L1B is the business not able to find any qualified or willing resource locally. In that case why they are not able/willing to file GC for those guys. Since they want to keep them as slaves...they never file.

This campaign starts at 4:00 PM EST on 29th April, 2010 and will run until the end of next week. We request all IV members to call the Senate offices listed below between 9:00 AM EST and 5:00 PM EST.
So, this Campaign runs for another 3 days, IV members need to pick up the phones and start calling. Remember, if no bill is put forth before the end of May, it will be legislatively impossible to take CIR this year.
It all boils down to, how much are we willing to help our own cause.
