as far as i know -> if spouse is working on EAD, she is NO LONGER on H4.
and the agreed way of re-instating h1/h4 is via H1/h4 extension or amendment or via h1/h4 stamping.
if she leaves US and wanna come back , then she can use AP.
if she still has a valid h4 stamping in the passport, i guess she may be tempted to use it; but i dont know what the implications cud be at the POE. the IO can chk her SSN and find out easily that she is on payroll at employment and paying taxes etc and can question "well it seems like u were working, and now u want to come back to H4? did u quit ur job etc etc". im just guessing but these cud be very valid questions.

I did not want to initiate that discussion because it may be a long one, but let me share my experience:
My recommendation is that folks take an MBA only if you already have a firm position in mind that you want to go for an executive or upper management position in the future. That line of thought is specially applicable when you are paying the whole thing from your own pocket !!! Before working in a management position or taking the MBA, I did not know how much I liked the idea of becoming a CIO or CEO. I tought I knew it, but until you actually experiment it, as many things in life you don't know for sure. Well, after completing 50% of the program I realized that was not my short or mid-term goal to work as an executive reading accounting net income balance sheets or maketing professional, even if I had the GC handy.
In my personal opinion, taking an MBA merely to enhance your project management when you are PAYING FROM YOUR OWN POCKET it may be a very bad strategy. If others are paying for you, of course that is fine, but it is not the case for many of us. I had only one or two courses related to project management anyway.
If you just want to enhance your project management skills, you might want to invest in way more direct courses such as PMP, ITIL, Microsoft Operations Framework. You should be able to complete those with a fraction of the cost and time of an MBA and probably achieve more return and knowledge than what the MBA can offer you when it comes to project management.
For those who are sure you want to read balance sheets, work with marketing analysis and go away from the hands-on experience, then MBA may be right for you.
I don't want to discourage you, but there are documents out there showing that MBA's are overrated and the importance of it is under scrutiny. Since I already found offers from multiple employers who were willing to pay 100% (if you are a qualified professional like us, it is not difficult to find employers willing to pay for it once you can change jobs) personally I thought I could wait a little longer to get the MBA and invest in IT certifications now paying from my own pocket.
Just my humble opinion.
I dont mean to discourage folks here...
But here is what I have seen more often with MBA. Techies like programmers, business analysts in IT sector have done their MBAs from good schools and ended up doing the same job EVEN WITH GREENCARDS.
I have seen GC holders doing MBA and then after finishing MBA ending up with same job description with a 5% increase in pay.
So please do your research in HOW MBA is going to help you in your situation. Your job and your INTENDED JOB POST MBA may not really need you to have an MBA. And I have seen this way too often. So think before you pluck down 30,000 dollars on a degree that might do little benefit financially after you complete it.

I got biometrics notice for an appointment in the past :mad::mad::mad:
So, I made copies of the notice and put together cover leter and asked to be rescheduled for Sep.
Will call next week to follow up. In the meantime I noticed soft LUD on the date of my supposed biometrics....but the online message still says document production ordered....
Total chaos guys....:mad:

We have to come up with a request letter addressing to DHS secretary and I am pretty sure It can be done as part of admin fix.
It will bring lot of relief for most of the people whose PD's are after May/June 2007..
I know that its already on IV agenda, but looking at the complexity involved for H1 extensions/transfers/layoffs (especially these days) we cannot wait any longer. I would suggest keeping this particular request separate and especially people who have PD's after May/June 2007 should participate actively.

I am not indian, I am chinese, and I attended the rally in DC. I am so touched by you brave indian people. while I feel such a shame that we only had much less chinese there. part of the reason is that IV is originally indian club. we got the message but kind of lack the close organization.

Nevertheless, Indians do seem to be in the majority from those who are severely affected by legal immigration issues and are active. IV's membership demographics reflects that.
If you have any thoughts on how to encourage more folks from your community or other non-Indians to participate please feel free to share here or PM me.

Include Sep approvals as well, they can’t use all the visas in the month of Aug it self, it never happened before (in fact they wasted thousands of visas by the end of the fiscal each year in the past). This is the first time they have determined (?) to use all the visas, don’t expect 100% success in the first attempt it self. The system has not been fine tuned yet to that level of success.
For Sep, the EB2 dates will remain same or might even move further few months. Oct bulletin will be the interesting one. If there are very little approvals during Aug & Sep, it will move back considerably. If there are so many approvals in the tune of 15-20k, then EB2 PD will go back slightly (say Jan 06) but will move forward at healthy rate. Come last quarter of 2008-09, there will be quantum leap again.

There is a lot more Racism in Australia than Canada nowadays as you must have read in the news. Also anyone moving from US to Canada it will be easier to move, as the culture is pretty much the same. Road rules are the pretty similar. But getting a job would be tough compared to australia.
But I would still say Canada is still a better option than Australia (lot of natural resources)

Mandal ka Kamanadal will do. What this means is that we are back to square one. All the effort, money and energy was spent on making sure that we didnt get screwed any further. Meaning, it hasnt moved us a step ahead but just helped us to retain our positions without going back.

But don't you need the original LC approval notice for concurrent filing? It was already included in the I140 filed on July 17. I will just hope and pray that I can receive the receipt notice (or at least receipt number) before August 14~15. Thank you, SVAM77!

These 3 members are from a different pool. IV gave us phone numbers of Michigan members registered at the site. We have been calling and E-mailing these members about tommorrows meet.
The response received has been encouraging. Lot of members who couldn't participate in the first meet, did volunteer to participate in the future meets and other activities. We have created enough buzz about chapter and reached out to a wider audience ( some even unaware of the thread here). Three members (different from the three prospective attendees above) have joined our current google group.
We are also running a Newsletter today to registered IV Michigan members. We aren't leaving any stone unturned to get maximum possible members to attend.
